about

At the time of this show/recording, the love of my life was my band and this was our last show. I was unaware this recording existed until yesterday (some fourteen years later).

The sound quality is poor, like it was recorded at some sweaty house show. That's because it was. But it's here--it exists. This is our last batch of songs that never got the studio treatment, and we were definitely turning into Pink-Floyd-slow-metal and didn’t even know it. It's the sound of a six year education of not only holding together a band for the first time but also six years of partying Russellville style. This is reflected in my banter: “Come on motherfuckers. Let’s get fucked up!" This final show was also met with plenty of stare-downs from drunk rednecks who weren’t invited, and you can hear the altercation on the tape, too.

All in all, after listening to the set last night, which is fairly long, I only came away with a feeling of how much I loved my band mates, two of which are still some of my closest friends. Brothers, really. Ryan and Daniel--or as we call him in the crew, Danny Dean. (Danny Dean just put out his own excellent record by the way! It’s a melodic record with a good amount of goth elements. Dover Lights--check it out!)

So, here’s to another 20 years of rock and roll, if I make it. Thanks for checking out the tunes!
